Robot-Ready Consumers?

A recent Red Herring article questioned the readiness of consumers to pay for mobile robots - those which move around and interact with people. While the industry is growing, the consumer market is clearly in its early stages. Many companies have found other applications for their robots while they wait for the consumer market to take off -- the government and industries are the two biggest targets. Aldo Zini, president of Aethon, went to the hospital industry with his TUG carrier robots. TUGs carry medicine and charts throughout hospitals elminating the need for nurse's and aides to do the transporting. Read the full article here.
