Ayalogic Utlizes Groundbreaking GIPS Technology
Ayalogic will be the first customer to use the groundbreaking Global IP Sound (GIPS) Border Interface Engine (BIE).  This server-based transcoding and dejittering solution tackles quality degradation that occurs when calling between VoIP networks. BIE allows VoIP solutions to provide consistent connectivity between networks, and enables high-quality conversation in both directions by maintaining call integrity over the IP network. Venture Investments Up 45% in 2005
The Pittsburgh Business Times reports that year-over-year venture capital investments in Pittsburgh-area companies are up by 45%, according to a MoneyTree survey. As one of the region's most active investors, Draper Triangle has begun to invest in companies from our DTV II fund.  Jay predicts a very good year for investments, citing the companies already in our portfolio that will be doing significant follow-on rounds of financing, plus the sheer number of new companies present in the region.

Tug Making Moves at Canonsburg Hospital
Fifty times a day at Canonsburg General Hospital, Aethon's Tug robot is making rounds from the ER to the lab, hauling blood, urine and other specimens down the long hallways, stopping only occasionally for traffic jams or other obstructions. The robot ensures that ER nurses can spend more time with patients, not delivering specimens to the lab. The Tug arrived at the hospital in December and has been working hard, saving time and money ever since. West Penn Allegheny Health Systems, which includes Canonsburg General, has purchased Tugs for its six hospitals to save money and use professional staff more wisely.
