$3.4 Million in Funding for Imago
Imago Scientific Instruments announced that it will receive $3.4 million in equity financing from three venture capital sources.  Led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, the funding round comes just 2 weeks after Imago acquired Oxford nanoScience from the UK-based Polaron plc.

Nova Measuring Instruments Acquires Hypernex
Nova Measuring Instruments, Ltd. the marekt leader in integrated metrology and process control for the semiconductor industry announced that it has entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement with HyperNex, Inc. to acquire substantially all the assets of HyperNex in exchange for up to 1.8 million shares of Nova and the assumption of specified liabilities.  The transaction is valued at approximately $4.5 million.  Assuming the transaction closes in May, HyperNex could account for about 10% of Nova's revenue in 2006.  Read more on the HyperNex website.

Cognitive Tutor® Upgraded for 2006
Carnegie Learning has enhanced Cognitive Tutor and has released the 2006 versions of Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II curricula.  The new Bridge to Algebra curriculum, released in February, is also developed on the new2006 platform.  The 2006 release enhances the usability of the software by incoporating an updated user interface, online user assistance, updated Teacher's Toolkit including additional reports, a new Look Ahead/Look Back section, a glossary, new units of instruction and re-sequencing of software units.  This is the first major upgrade in three years, and evolves from classroom and lab data, and from new findings in cognitive psychology. Current customers will receive upgraded software and discounts on new texts as part of their annual SchoolCare renewal.

Haley Systems Advanced Business Rule Implementation Standards for JSR-94
As part of a major new initiative to promote industry standards for rules interchange, Haley Systems introduced the Haley Rules Markup Language, a schema for specifying business rules in XML. The company also announced its immedicate support for the JSR-94 specification for the Java Rule Engine APO through its rules engine, HaleyRules-JP5.3.  Haley Systems is the first business rules vendor to advance the practical use of JSR-94 by providing a corresponding standard rules syntax.  Read more at www.haley.com.

Plan4Demand Solutions, Inc. named Peter Sarris as Vice President of Delivery Services.  Peter will oversee the ongoing growth of the company's delivery services unit, is responsible for the day-to-day management and quality of field operations, and manages office operations in support of field personnel and the profitability of billable engagements.

Imago Acquires Oxford NanoScience Ltd.

Imago Scientific Instruments has acquired atom probe company Oxford NanoScience Ltd. from UK-based Polaron plc.  "We are very excited about this acquisition and the contributions it will make to our business going forward," said Timothy Stultz, President and CEO of Imago. "By combining the ONS technology, products, intellectual property and Atom Probe Team with those of Imago, we further strengthen our ability to bring the best-of-breed and most comprehensive set of Nanolytical® Solutions to the market and our customers."
