Plextronics Ranks in Top 50 of Nanotech Start-ups
Plextronics has been ranked in the top 50 of Lux Research's most well-rounded, venture-backed nanotechnology start-ups, as evaluated in the report titled, "Ranking Nanotech Start-ups for Partnership Value."  The report evaluated 136 independently operated nanotechnology start-ups worldwide based on 20 criteria spanning four success factors, including both quantitative and qualitative criteria. Carnegie Learning Partners with Southern University
Carnegie Learning has been named as a partner in a three-year, $1 million National Science Foundation grant to Southern University in Louisiana, to help teachers and students integrate advanced technology into the teaching and learning of middle school environmental science. Carnegie Learning's role is to conduct workshops at Southern University to help teachers understand how to apply advanced technology in the classroom.  In addition to the workshops, Carnegie Learning will also develop tools based on the company's Cognitive Tutor software technology that will help teachers author their own highly-effective and engaging computer-based activities.  For more information, visit www.carnegielearning.com.

BitArmor Profiled on EnterpriseIt Planet
Entitled "Security Startup Thrives in an ILM World," an article from EnterpriseIt Planet profiles BitArmor Systems and its BitArmor Security Suite Version 2.0. In the article, BitArmor VP of Marketing Mark Buczynski states that his company's product is different from PKI (public key infrastructure) systems in that "it automates key management and makes the management, deployment, and enforcement of data security easy, intuitive, and transparent to end users." Plan4Demand Goes Global

BodyMedia: World Technology Award Winner
At the 2006 World Technology Summit and Awards Event in San Francisco, BodyMedia came out the winner of the 2006 World Technology Award for Heathcare/Medicine - Corporate category.  The World Technology Network is a high-profile international organization whose members are made up entirely of winners of these awards in past years.  The basis for winning is "the company with the potential for the most significant long-term impact on the world." Imago Adds to Austria's Prestigious Research Facility
The University of Leoben (Austria) has purchased a 3DAP model LEAP microscope from Imago Scientific Instruments for its Department of Physical Metallurgy and Materials Testing. The University's research lab is one of the largest, most prestigious materials-research facilities in Europe.  Among other fields, Leoben's research focuses on research and development of high-performance metal alloy materials, correlating their material phase transformations and precipitation processes with thermo-physical and mechanical properties. The LEAP microscope is scheduled for delivery and installation in December 2006.

Carnegie Learning Part of Pilot in Kentucky
The Kentucky Department of Education has chosen Carnegie Learning's Bridge to Algebra and Algebra I programs as part of a $1.2 million pilot program directed at improving middle school math performance. The pilot program will test two programs in six districts around the Commonwealth; Clark, Madison and Shelby County School Districts will implement Carnegie Learning's curricula.
