Houston Independent School District to Participate in RAND Study

The Houston Independent School District is one of six school districts participating in a five-year study funded by the U.S. Department of Education and conducted by RAND Corporation that will evaluate the effectiveness of Carnegie Learning's technology-based Algebra I curriculum. In Houston, 45 middle and high schools with 8400 Algebra students will participate in the five-year study to evaluate whether the Cognitive Tutor(R) curriculum is effective for a wide range of students and environments.
