According to an article on themorningcall.com, CHAD (an acronym for Computerized Hospital Assisted Delivery) is rolling along the corridors at Lehigh Valley Hospital, delivering bags of bandages and boxes of syringes, for just $7.50 per hour -- 30% less than the $11.25 its human counterpoint earns. Aethon sells the courier robots -- officially known as Tugs -- to hospitals to help ease the loads on human couriers, potentially saving the facilities $240,000 over five years.
