Hamilton County & Carnegie Learning Develop 8th Grade Math Curriculuum

Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga, TN has purchased a custom math textbook and software program developed in partnership with Carnegie Learning for use this fall. All 8th graders in Hamilton County schools will use either Carnegie Learning Tennessee Bridge to Algebra Grade 8 Mathematics or Carnegie Learning Algebra I. Hamilton County Schools also renewed the purchase of Carnegie Learning Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II Curricula for a fifth year in all 18 district high schools. The No Child Left Behind percentages of Hamilton County Schools' students scoring proficient or advanced in mathematics have increased for the third consecutive year, improving from 76% in 2007 to 89% in 2009.
