Clinical Studies Show Body Monitoring Devices Increase Weight Loss Success

Two clinical studies recently released by BodyMedia yielded promising results showcasing body monitoring devices' integral role in the current public health dialogue on using mobile health technology to combat obesity. The first study, published in the Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise Journal, revealed results from one of the first studies to validate the accuracy of the BodyMedia Armband technolgy in real-world conditions. The other study, conducted by Dr. Steven Blair of the Arnold School of Public Health at USC and presented at the Convergence & Society Meeting at University of South Carolina, showed that combining a lifestyle intervention program and a body monitoring device tripled weight loss.
