Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency Expands Relationship with Carnegie Learning
After realizing compelling results from the earlier implementation of Carnegie Learning's Algebra I course, Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency (AEA) purchased the company's Geometry and Integrated Math curricula. Cognitive Tutor Algebra I was implemented as part of a 3-year project to improve student performance in mathematics, increase the number of students electing upper level math courses and provide math teachers with on-going professional development in integrating technology in the classroom. The successful result demonstrates the effective use of technology at the secondary math level. The purchase of the expanded curricula was made with funds from the federal government's E2T2 program in an effort to offer Algebra I, Geometry and Statistics courses to all children, not just college-bound students.
