Cognitive Tutor® Goes to Maui
The Hawai'i Public Schools, in conjunction with the Maui Educational Consortium: Mathematics-Science Improvement Partnership Grant has purchased Carnegie Learning's math curricula for six schools on the islands of Maui and Molokai. The three-year grant will be rolled out in two phases, the first includes implementing Cognitive Tutor Algebra I curricula in four high schools, one middle school and the Maui Community College. Phase two incorporates the Cognitive Tutor Geometry and Algebra II curricula at those schools in 2006-2007. Read more on Carnegie Learning's website.

Aethon Closes $11 Million Financing Round
Aethon recently closed an $11 million financing deal, allowing the company to double its workforce and expand its customer base nationwide. The round was led by Trident Capital and included previous investors Draper Triangle Ventures, Salix Ventures, Ascension Health Ventures and Pacific Venture Group.

Carnegie Learning's Steven Ritter Appointed to SIIA Education Board
Dr. Steven Ritter, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Carnegie Learning, has been appointed to a seat on the Software & Information Industry Association's Education Division Board of Directors. The Board consists of representatives from member companies who prioritize Education Division issues and initiatives, administer the Division budget and determine the projects, activities and events each year. Carnegie Mellon Tops in Educational Research
